If you arrive by plane (to Madrid-Barajas)

You have a bus connection that takes you directly from the terminals (T1 and T4) to the bus station in Salamanca: https://www.avanzabus.com/rutas/salamanca-madrid-aeropuerto/

If you arrive by bus:

The bus station is a 20-minute walk from the historic centre, and there are also several bus stops around the station that connect it with the rest of the town (lines 4, 7, 13, 14, 15), as well as a taxi stop.

If you arrive by train

The train station is also a 20-minute walk from the historic centre, although on the opposite side of town compared to the bus station. There is also a taxi stop in front of the station, and bus stops around connect it with the rest of the town (lines 1 and 11).

How to move around

If you are staying near or within the historic centre, it is preferable to walk, as everything is within the radius of a 20-minute walk, and most streets are pedestrian-only.

  • By bus:

If you wish to move around the town, many bus lines circling the historic centre could take you elsewhere. A map is available here: http://salamancadetransportes.com/uploads/files/PLANO_ST_WEB_1-6-2023_1686129435.pdf

Regular bus tickets cost 1.05 € (paid in cash to the bus driver). Alternatively, you can also purchase a rechargeable card for 2€, where you can add 5€, 10€ or 20€ each time; each trip would cost 0.59€ using this method. More info: http://salamancadetransportes.com/inicio

  • By taxi:

You can order a taxi anywhere, calling 923250000, although there are taxi stops distributed throughout the town. A detailed map of these stops and more info on tariffs can be found on their website: https://www.taxi-salamanca.com/es.html
