ASYRAS is pleased to announce the 11th ASYRAS Conference, under the title Sailing Through Academia, which will take place at the University of Alicante, 10 – 12 June 2026. The conference is intended as a scientific meeting where early-career specialists in English Studies can present the results of their current research from a variety of perspectives. The conference will count on the following confirmed keynote speakers: Dr Rosario Arias Doblas (University of Málaga), Dr José Antonio Sánchez Fajardo (University of Alicante), and Dr Almudena Machado Jiménez (University of Jaén). 

Our workshop will be carried out on the first day of the event and will also feature the participation of Dr Sara Prieto García-Cañedo (University of Alicante). This workshop aims to provide young and potential researchers of English Studies with tools to help them advance in their academic careers, covering essential aspects such as academic writing, oral skills, and guidance on how to face the publishing process. 

The conference will be arranged in thematic sessions and consist of 20-minute paper presentations followed by a 10-minute discussion. Proposals will undergo peer review by specialists in the different fields of knowledge. We will consider proposals from any field related to Anglophone Studies, ascribed but not limited to the following areas:

  • Literatures in English
  • Acquisition and teaching of First, Second and Foreign Languages
  • Bilingualism and multilingualism
  • Comparative literature
  • Contrastive and translation studies
  • Corpus linguistics
  • Critical theory
  • Cultural studies

  • Postcolonial literature
  • Sociolinguistics

Abstracts between 250 and 300 words (excluding references) should be submitted before January 19th, 2026, through this form. Abstracts should follow this template.
